"Blind Massage" by Lou Ye explored the life of disabled people who are blind but try to find light in the darkness. It featured a cast made up in part of amateur blind actors. The camera centers on the life and love affairs of a group of blind people working in a massage parlor in Nanjing. The director boldly experimented with innovative cinematography to mimic the world as experienced by blind or half-blind people, showing deep insight of their emotions and helplessness, solidly weaving between the sadness and happiness in their inner world. The film, adapted from an award-winning novel by Bi Feiyu, depicts the stunning and powerful strengths from humanity and reflects Chinese reality as well as an alternative world with fairness and without bias.
