It has been nearly five years since the 55-year-old went on tour last time. Dubbed his fans as the "God of Songs," the singer sold more than 60 million records and performed more than 600 shows over his career.
Cheung's last "1/2 Century Tour" lasted 18 months between 2010 and 2012, taking him to 77 cities with 146 performances. More than 2.8 million audiences attended the shows, setting a Guinness World Record for the most audiences for a world tour within a period of 12 months.
Cheung's much anticipated new tour, called "A Classic Tour," will cover 23 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Wuhan. The singer has recently added three shows in Hong Kong on New Year's eve, New Year's Day and January 2nd.
Around 66,000 tickets for next February's performances in Taipei were reportedly sold within the first 20 minutes after they became available.
