Chinese share prices edged up 0.25 percent on Tuesday after
plunging about 100 points during the trading day.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 13.16 points, or
0.25percent, to close at 5,175.08.
The Shenzhen Component Index on the smaller Shenzhen Stock
Exchange ended at 17,036.90 points, down 59.61 points, or 0.35
percent.
The combined turnover of the two bourses dropped to 160.76
billion yuan (21.72 billion U.S. dollars) from 163.80 billion yuan
on the previous trading day.
