China has nearly 120 million mobile phone subscribers who use those devices for Internet access, and about 70 percent of these netizens are in their twenties, an industry group said.
The China Internet Network Information Center issued a report Wednesday saying that these 20-somethings, known in China as "post-80s" for the year after which they were born, have strong curiosity and use the phones mainly for online entertainment.
Men in this group outnumber women by about 75 percent to 25 percent.
Most of those who go online with their mobile phones do so to access e-mail or entertain themselves with music, videos or blogs, the report said.
There are about 640 million mobile phone subscribers in China, making it the world's largest mobile phone market.
