Securities firms' brokerage business soars in Feb

Securities companies' brokerage business income exceeded 11 billion yuan (US$1.61 billion) in February, up 170 percent year-on-year, due the to the soaring transaction volumes.

Statistics from Gildata show that the transaction value of stocks, funds and warrants totaled 4.7 trillion yuan, up 173.9 percent on a yearly basis.

As the expectation for the country's economic outlook stabilizes this year, the investment sentiment warms up, leading to brisker transactions. Securities firms' brokerage business income amounted to about 15 billion yuan in the first two months, exceeding that of the fourth quarter last year.
