The 10th China Textile and Apparel Trade Show (New York) is scheduled to kick off at Javits Convention Center Tuesday.
The annual sourcing event, the only US trade show exclusively featuring Chinese made men's, women's, children's clothing, fabrics, and home textiles, is expected to attract thousands of visitors during the three-day event.
With a displaying area of 4,500 square meters, the show features some 100 top Chinese companies from Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin municipalities, Anhui, Fujian, Guangdong and other provinces, which will display thousands of quality items in every price point in over 100 categories.
Xu Yinxin, one of the officials in charge of the show, told Xinhua that China attaches great importance to the US textile and apparel market, noting that the export of China-made textiles and apparel to the United States is beginning to show a positive sign of recovering after a period of downturn.
"The situation is making a turn for the better and a tipping point is already in sight," he said.
Statistics show that the export of China-made textiles and apparels fell by 10 percent in the first four months of this year compared with the same period of last year. However, the situation improved in April with total exports of textiles and apparels registering a rise of 2.7 percent over the previous month.
