At a briefing on the progress of the Yiwu International Trade Comprehensive Reform Pilot, Huang Zhiping, Party secretary of Yiwu City, said that establishing the city as a major distribution center for imported goods was an integral part of its reform strategy. The city can do this, he said, by providing tax incentives for importers, offering excellent services to foreign companies which do business in Yiwu, and creating educational incentives concerning the import market for local talent. The construction of an Imported Commodities Mall last year within the China Commodity City was a key part of the strategy. Additionally, the Yiwu market has its own visa bureau to process visas for foreigners, as well as an International Trade Services Center providing business and residential services to foreign employees.
