On November 26, Chinese President Hu Jintao and French President
Nicolas Sarkozy held talks with the Wahaha-Danone legal dispute on
their discussion agenda.
A spokesperson for Danone revealed that the dispute has become
more complicated over the last several days with the Chinese and
French governments now involved.
It is rumored that Wahaha and Danone are likely to withdraw from
the legal battle and negotiate for a settlement. Lu Liangbiao, a
lawyer representing Wahaha from Dacheng Law Offices is urging the
two sides to constructively settle the dispute and illuminate ways
of finding a final solution.
If the companies continue along this path, the current stalemate
between the two sides is likely to be broken and they may begin
substantial negotiations.
