Adjust font size:

Sasol, the leading provider of commercial explosives solutions in South Africa, held a board meeting in Beijing last Sunday. It is the first time Sasol has held a board meeting in China, the Beijing Morning Post reported Monday.

Sunday's meeting was held to discuss Sasol's ongoing cooperation with China's Shenhua Group, the world's biggest coal producer.

Sasol said that a feasibility study on building two world-class coal-to-fuel plants in China is proceeding as planned and the project is scheduled to go into operation in 2016.

Sasol and Shenhua Group are jointly conducting a feasibility study into the construction of two coal-to-fuel plants in Shaanxi and Ningxia. The evaluation is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.
