The Shanghai Disney theme park will open to the public in 2013, the official Shanghai Securities News reported Thursday.
Last December the Walt Disney Company sent senior executives to Shanghai to discuss details of the theme park project, and the two sides have now reached agreement. The newspaper said that the park will be built in the Huanglou district, only ten minutes drive from Shanghai Pudong International Airport. China will relax visa regulations to allow 48-hour visa-free entry for transit passengers.
Shanghai Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone Development Co Ltd, and Shanghai Wai Gaoqiao Free Trade Zone Development Co Ltd will participate in the project, the newspaper said, citing an unnamed source.
