Chinese shares open flat on Feb. 3

 Chinese shares opened almost flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, gained 0.09 points, to 2,011.77 points at the opening.

The smaller Shenzhen index was up 0.03 percent, or 2.34 points, to open at 7,089.95 points.
