Chinese State Councilor Ma Kai on Friday highlighted the need of further reform to guarantee the country's development.
Ma, also secretary-general of the State Council and president of the China National School of Administration (CNSA), made the comment when addressing a graduation ceremony for a class taken by provincial and ministerial officials at the CNSA.
The international financial crisis has made unprecedented impact on the world, Ma said.
Although a slew of policies taken by the central government has effectively salvaged the Chinese economy, the current economic condition both at home and abroad remains stern and complicated, said Ma.
He called for active response to the crisis, so as to turn the challenges into opportunities.
It was also important to strengthen the capacity of Chinese companies to go overseas when the international economic situation was undergoing major changes, said Ma.
Apart from that, efforts should be taken to enhance the administrative capacity and public credibility of the government, said Ma.
