Russian weightlifter Olga Zubova won the women's 63kg title thanks to lighter body weight in Singapore on Wednesday at the Youth Olympic Games.

Zubova and Chitchanok Pulsabsakul of Thailand finished with identical 251kg totals after the snatch and clean and jerk, but the win was awarded to Zubova because she tipped the scales at 71.55kg at the official weigh-in, while her opponent came in at 119.89kg.

Though disappointed with silver, Pulsabsakul was satisfied with her performance.

"I have to accept the regulations of the competition, 136kg is my personal best and I am very happy," she said.

Earlier, Russian Artem Okulov showed he was easily the top competitor in the men's 77kg event.

His total of 327kg was 16kg better than silver medallist Chatuphum Chinnawong of Thailand. Rustem Sybay from Kazakhstan finished third with 285kg.

The men's 85kg came down to a battle between Bulgaria's Georgi Shikov and Russia's Alexey Kosov, and the Bulgarian lifted 154kg in his last attempt for a 335 kg total and edge out his opponent by just one kilogram for the gold medal.

Kostyantyn Reva of Ukraine tried for gold when he attempted 191kg in the clean and jerk, but he was unsuccessful and had to settle for bronze.
