Li Xiaolin
Li Xiaolin, CEO of China Power International Development Ltd., is the only daughter of former Chinese Premier Li Peng. She was named one of the International 50 Most Powerful Women in Business by Fortune in 2008.
Li graduated from Tsinghua University in 1988 with a master's degree in power systems and automation engineering. She was a visiting scholar at the Sloan Business School of Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States.
In 2003, Li was appointed general manager of China Power International Development Ltd, and in that same year, the output of China Power reached 31.1 billion kilowatt-hours, up 11 percent from the previous year. The company's profits were 972 million yuan ($US 148 million), a 31-percent increase, and the rate of return on assets rose 10.15 percent—an 89-percent jump from 2002.
In the same year, China Power purchased six percent of the stock of Companhia de Electricidade de Macau, in the first successful international acquisition conducted by a mainland power company.
The company's turnover in 2010 reached 14.4 billion yuan ($US 2.2 billion), representing an increase of approximately 32.00% over last year, according the Results Announcement for Year 2010 of the company.
