Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DLUFL), originally known as Dalian School of Japanese Language, was founded in 1964. Over the past 40-odd years, DLUFL has fledged into a multi-disciplinary foreign language university that also offers programs in other fields like arts, economics, management, engineering and law. DLUFL offers 25 bachelor programs in 18 faculties and departments with 14 master programs, covering 10 foreign languages, including Japanese, English, Russian and French. The university has a faculty of more than 1000, including 300 professors and associate professors, as well as 60 foreign professors. Altogether over 20,000 students are currently studying at the university, including 800 postgraduates, 12,000 undergraduates, 900 international students, and 8,000 continued education students and various trainees.
大连外国语学院坐落在美丽的海滨城市——大连，拥有学士、硕士学位授予权。学院成立于1964年，时为大连日语专科学校。四十多年来，学院已经建设发展成为以外语为主，以国际化办学为特色，文、管、经、工、法等学科相互支撑、协调发展的多科性外国语大学。学校设18个教学机构，25个本科专业，14个硕士学位授予点，覆盖日、英、俄、法、韩、德、西、阿、意、葡10个外语语种。目前，学院共有教职工近1000人，教授、副教授300余人，常年聘请来自15个国家9个语种的外籍教师60余名。院现有各类在校生2万余人，其中研究生800余人，本科生12000余人，外国留学生900余人，成人教育、各类培训生8000余人。
