In July, a gay dating application, Zank, announced that it had received 20 million yuan of financing. Its founder Ling Jueding said the company is worth an estimated 60 to 70 million yuan. In October, another gay dating software, Blued, got US$30 million of financing and is now worth an estimated US$300 million. Zank has released its lesbian dating application Laven and Blued plans to release a similar application called Pinked. Other lesbian dating applications such as lespark and the-L have received angel investment. The rise of the pink economy showed the achievements of gay people fighting for rights and improving their self-awareness.
