A Song of Unending Sorrow 长恨歌

The performance of A Song of Unending Sorrow held in Xian Huaqing Palace is adapted from the famous poem A Song of Unending Sorrow written by Bai Juyi, a famous poet in Tang Dynasty (618-907). Chinese people are familiar with the poem which narrates the tragic love story of Emperor Xuanzong and his favorite concubine Yang Yuhuan (Concubine Yang). First staged in 2006, the performance presents the story to visitors by the means of singing, dancing and acting. Also by the use of the modern technology of acoustics and colorful lights, the performance is indeed worth seeing when visitors travel in Huaqing Palace, the very place where the story took place.

Tips: The Performance A Song of Unending Sorrow starts at 8:30 pm from April to October. It lasts 1 hour. The ticket price ranges from 218 to 988 yuan depending on the seat.
