YunFeng Temple complex is reached by a switchbacked path and a long set of steep stairs that lead visitors almost 10 stories above the level of the road. The central hall of the main temple holds the "true body statue" containing the physical remains of the Kongwang Buddha. The row of small temples built against the rock face at the back of the complex are the oldest original structures in the area, one of which is covered with Tang dynasty devotional graffiti etched into its walls and contains original Tang bronze sculptures of the Buddha.
