Visitors can climb this hanging wooden stairway in Qixian Valley, known as Heaven's Stairs, to follow the path which Jie Zitui and his family are thought to have followed when they retreated to their home in the wilderness. Legend has it that Jie was lost and did not know how to go on when an immortal deity appeared at this spot and revealed the way to Jie through the vision of a deer climbing through the gulch. The path through the narrow ravine is filled with harrowing climbs over sharp rocks and rushing water, but those who dare to brave it can hike all the way up to the tomb of Jie Zitui at the top of one of the area's highest ridges.
