A senior Chinese official has asked Ningxia government to actively introduce investors to develop water-efficient agriculture and eco-friendly industries in its arid environment.

Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, took a four-day visit ending Tuesday to northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Li visited a village where Hui nationality migrants had been resettled. He encouraged the residents to shake off poverty with the help of the local government.
