Yang Zhenning, a Chinese-American physicist who received the 1957 Nobel Prize in Physics, gave a lecture at Ningxia University on Wednesday morning on his academic and research experience. Speaking to more than 500 faculty and students, Yang said the best opportunities for learning come when intuition contradicts book learning. Hu Heping, chairman of Tsinghua University Council, and Yu Gesheng, Ningxia’s deputy Party chief attended the lecture. Located in the Yinchuan, Ningxia’s capital, Ningxia University is the top comprehensive university in the region. It was founded in 1958.
