Ningxia Administration of Tourism plans to build multiple self-driving campsites in the cities along the golden riverfront of the Yellow River section in Ningxia in 5 years, the administration head Li Chunyang said. The campsite will provide a parking lot, a gas station, vehicle maintenance and other necessary services and facilities for self-driving tours so as to attract more self-drivers to the region, Li said. Ningxia has unique terrain and other resources favorable to develop self-driving tourism in the region, said Ma Xiaoyuan, chief consultant at a tourism planning company in Beijing. Over the past 10 years, Ningxia has host tens of events on driving culture and driving race. It is dubbed as the place that gathers and broadcasts Chinese driving culture, and the western headquarter of Chinese self-driving tourism by car fans and specialized agencies, Li said.
