Yinchuan-based Yishunyuan Agricultural Trade Co. exported 25 tons of frozen halal beef to Kuwait last week – becoming the first company in the city to export the Islam-approved meat, a city official said.

Yishunyuan has signed a contract with a Kuwait trading company to ship 25 tons of the frozen meat every three months, said Li Shaobo, an official at Yinchuan's commercial bureau.

"These exports will make Yinchuan an important bridge linking Ningxia's halal beef industry to Middle Eastern countries," Li Shaobo.
