China, Arab countries to expand sci-tech cooperation | |||

Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and some Arab countries entered a number of major cooperative agreements at the China-Arab Scientific and Technological Cooperation Fair Thursday. More than 120 scholars and entrepreneurs from both sides attended the fair where the Ningxia Yinxing Energy Co Ltd, Ningxia Diantong Group Co Ltd, Ningxia Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, Ningxia University showcased their sci-tech achievements. The achievements include those on wind power generation, solar photovoltaic industry, live interactive mobile voice learning system, comprehensive management of decertified land and development of desert culture. Six institutions from China and their seven counterparts from the Arab world entered cooperation agreements covering power industry, medical treatment and desertification control, said Ma Qinggui, director of the region's Science and Technology Bureau. The Yinchuan Fangda Electronic System Engineering Co Ltd and Egypt Institute of Sociology and Anthropological pledged to work together on software and services outsourcing and Chinese textbooks promotion in the Arab region with an investment growing to 20 million yuan RMB in five years. . Those institutions from both sides engaging in desertification control planed to apply jointly for financial and technical support from concerned international organizations. They will make efforts to establish demonstration regions and promote exchanges in the prevention and control of desertification |
