The Fall/Winter Brand Clothing Expo 2011 that opened Oct. 1 in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, will be extended to Oct. 24, 12 days longer than originally scheduled, to meet strong market demand, the expo organizer said.

Transaction volume at the expo reached 80 million yuan (US$12.5 million) for the first ten days of the expo, Luo Jun, a site manager at the expo, said.

The expo attracted 40 foreign exhibitors and 600 domestic companies with thousands of fall and winter clothes on display, among which more than 3000 new exhibits also make their debut in Chinese market.

Yinchuan is also hosting an international commodities expo, showcasing artifacts from Pakistan, jades from Burma, chocolates from Kazakhstan and handicrafts from Africa.

The organizer said that all the exhibitors are brand manufacturers or brand agents who deliver the exhibits directly to Yinchuan, cutting out the middlemen and reducing sales prices.
