Yinchuan, capital of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, was named a national model city for e-commerce development in a conference held in Shenzhen on Nov. 16, becoming the only city in northwest China to claim the title.

To date, Yinchuan has built more than 3,000 e-commerce websites serving nearly 1 million customers.

During the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), the city plans to expand e-commerce applications for transportation, education, health care, business start-ups, and employment services.
