Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has begun shipment of 5,500 tons of rice, processed by COFCO, to South Korea, breaking into the East Asian nation's rice market for the first time.

Earlier this year, COFCO helped Ningxia in its successful bid for a South Korean order of brown rice, securing an order for 20,000 tons.
