Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region emerged as the host of the upcoming 22nd annual National Books Expo after an earlier field inspection and evaluation by the General Administration of Press and Publication.
The Expo is slated to kick off June 1, 2012, at the capital Yinchuan's International Convention Center. It will last for four days with parallel sessions in Ningxia's four other prefecture-level cities including Shizuishan, Wuzhong, Zhongwei, and Guyuan.
Formerly known as the National Book Fair, the expo started in 1980 and had been held in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou with an increasing influence over the country. It has become an important window to showcase the latest achievements in the publishing industry.
