Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's capital Yinchuan is building an intangible cultural heritage protection center at the Ningxia Cultural Center.
The move aims to preserve the local intangible cultural heritages, including the folk literature and customs, traditional music, dance, drama, recreations, sports, crafts, fine arts and medicine, according to the municipal Radio, Film and Television Bureau.
Meanwhile, some primary and middle schools in the city have opened courses and showrooms on the local intangible cultural heritages, which are gradually gaining acceptance from local students.
Construction of the project is scheduled to be finished by August and put into operation in September, the bureau said.
