In 2011, the per-capita disposable income of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's urban residents increased by 14.6 percent to 17,578.9 yuan (US$2,776.6), up 2234.4 yuan from a year earlier, according to the Ningxia branch of the National Bureau of Statistics.
The data comes from a sample survey of the region's 950 urban households engaged in different walks of life, said Wang Xuming, a spokesman with the branch.
Wang said both the growth of macro economy and policies to raise the minimum wage and the social security level contributed to the rapid growth last year.
He also pointed out that the growth mainly comes from the increase of the regional residents' salary.
