The Press Office of Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, launched the city's official microblog page on Tecent on Feb. 23. The page will serve to announce the latest news on the municipal governmental affairs, communicate directly with the public and give speedy responses to their concerns.

By the end of 2011, more than 200 government agencies in Yinchuan had created official microblog pages on Weibo.com, the popular microblog platform in China similar to Twitter, facilitating exchanges between the government and local residents.
