The Ningxia Red Cross will begin reforms in 2012 to improve its social credibility, the charity's Executive Vice President Liu Jing said in a work report during a recent council meeting in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Liu said the Red Cross will focus on disaster relief this year and step up coordination with the governmental emergency system in a bid to establish an efficient and well-managed disaster relief system of its own.
The organization also hopes to raise more social funds through multiple programs and launch special relief campaigns, according to the work report.
The Red Cross will also build a quality, multilevel and relatively stable volunteer team and carry out widespread promotions of the charity's sprit and socialist core value system, with the aim of building the charity's brand value, Liu said.
Ningxia's vice chairman and the charity's President Yao Aixing called on the Red Cross' regional administrative levels build a scientific and normative donation management system to realize transparency in fund raising, management and usage.
