Ningxia's research of the Scott Traction Transformer has had a new breakthrough recently, with its performance reaching or surpassing current technology standards, making it a leading performer in China, according to the Science and Technology Department of Ningxia.

The Scott Traction Transformer is one of the dedicated traction transformers of electric railways based on AT power supply. An important component for the future development and construction of China's high-speed railway and passenger traffic lines, it has been applied to multiple electric railway systems across in the country.

Wolong Electric Yinchuan Transformer Co., Ltd., which is leading the research program, said the production capability of Scott Traction Transformer is roughly 1.2 million kVA per year, with an expected annual production value of 100 million yuan (US$15.87 million).
