An additional 4000 hectares of vineyards will be planted in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region this year, according to the Ningxia Forestry Bureau on January 18.

The regional government aims to incubate ten renowned wine cellars at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain and also plans to construct a world-class experimental area as well as an international wine museum this year, according to the related wine industry supporting policies. Additionally, the 2nd Mount Helan Eastern Reach Wine Festival will take place in Ningxia this year.

The wine grape planting area so far stands at 34,000 hectares across the entire region. A total of 52 wine processing enterprises have been established in Ningxia, with production capacity reaching some179,000 tons.
