The first northern west floating solar power project, 30mwp demonstration project of Beijing Energy Investment Holding Co.,Ltd is under construction in Helan, trying to join grid and generate electricity at end of the year.

It is reported that, it’s the first floating solar power project of Ningxia after using greenhouse, residential roof and wind power to develop and use new energy. Total investment of the project exceeds 0.3 billion yuan. The first phase 10mwp project starts in September and finishes at end of the year. Using floating solar power to generate electricity will promote the combination of developing and using new energy and sightseeing farming industry.

Changxin Town, Helan County owns large areas of water which are used by residents for fish farming. At the same time, Helan has strong solar radiation, lots of sunshine hours, adequate illumination and abundant solar energy resources. The project uses the free resources of fishpond surfaces and promotes the combination of developing and using new energy and sightseeing farming industry.
