A water conservancy exhibition, the sideline activity of 2015 China-Arab States Expo, kicked off in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, on May 28. Over 600 specialists and entrepreneurs from Egypt, Sudan and other Arab States and several provinces in China took part in the three-day discussion on the efficient use of water resources.
New technologies and appliances from over 90 enterprises were exhibited at the exhibition hall, including those on agricultural, industrial and urban water conservation.
“Over the past 20 years, China has been committed to promoting water saving irrigation technology,” said Gao Zhanyi, the former president of International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage, “Many enterprises taking part in the activity can help promote the technology and publicize the significance of water saving in agriculture.”
Being regions of severe water shortage, Ningxia and Arab States are expected to make better use of water conservancy technologies and improve the efficiency of water usage in the future, according to the exhibition.
