The green coverage rate has risen to 13.8 percent in 2014 across Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region through promotion of key ecological projects like natural forests protection, forest belts in Northeast China, North China and Northwest China, and grain for green over the past years. A total of 267,333 hectares of new forests have been planted in desertification areas across Ningxia.
