On August 3, Ningxia news website published opinions on integrating into One Belt , One Road policy to accelerate the construction of an open Ningxia.
According to the article, by 2017 Ningxia’s total import-export volume and foreign capital in actual use are expected to double that of 2013, making Ningxia a strategic stronghold of the Silk Road economic belt.
On the same day, the National Development and Reform Commission announced it would speed up the compiling of a general plan for traffic layout in relation to the One Road, One Belt policy and accelerate the construction of major landmark transportation projects to support the regional coordinated development strategy.
Therefore, some agencies think the rejuvenation of the Silk Road economic belt is expected to drive Ningxia’s infrastructure construction, thus boosting its cement demand. The article also pointed out Ningxia would open four channels to western China. According to another document, the Development Plan of the Urban Belt in the Yellow River-front Economic Zone, Ningxia would build a new-type urban and rural integration development pattern. Both of them would drive the local demand for cement.
In addition, since Ningxia’s cement price has reached a periodic low, some cement factories would withdraw because of the pressure, thus providing a good opportunity for regional leading enterprises to integrate the industry.
