The packing industry in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region maintained a steady growth in September, according to the Ningxia Department of Economy and Information Technology a few days ago.

The gross regional product of packing service reached 3.71 billion yuan from January to September, a 13.3 percent increase over the same period of the previous year; and 510 million yuan in September alone, a 7.9 percent monthly increase. The total added value grew by 16.9 percent on a year-on-year basis to 1.03 billion yuan, and by 9.2 percent over August to 142 million yuan. The output ratio was 97 percent in September.

Specifically, the paper packing industry increased by 19.8 percent, plastic packing industry 5.1 percent, packing and printing industry by 29.3 percent, metal packing industry 19.8 percent; and the packing machinery fell by 13 percent.
