This year, archaeology researchers in Ningxia conduct a rescuing excavation for the protection of 29 ancient graves, including 6 from Han Dynasty, 7 from the Northern Dynasty to Sui and Tang Dynasties and 16 from Ming and Qing Dynasties.

During the excavation, many treasures are unearthed. According to Fan Jun, the leader of the archaeology team of Ningxia Archaeology Research Institute, the excavation started from this May, and the grave was divided by researchers into two zones, the eastern one and the western one.

The eastern zone covers an area of 80,000 square meters and 20 ancient graves. There are only 9 graves and 1 kiln relic in the western zone.

Treasures unearthed in these graves cover stone sculptures, potteries, bronze ware, ironware, lacquer, jade ware and coins, with a total amount up to 150. In a grave from Tang Dynasty, a grave stone inscription was found, which indicates the identity of its owner.

At present, archaeologists are classifying and restoring what is unearthed and preparing to open the inscription. It is believed that the inscription will tell more about the graves and their owners.
