The city of Yinchuan was awarded the Happiest City to Hold Exhibitions in China in 2015 on the Convention and Exhibition Industry Fair, which was held in Beijing from December 22 to 23.

Organized by China Convention Magazine and the International Convention and Exhibition Industry Initiative, the event attracted almost 1500 professional buyers and over 3000 professional visitors to attend. Wang Zhe, the deputy director of Yinchuan Exhibition Office and Commerce Bureau, obtains“2015 Innovation-driven Prize for China Expo Industry”.

Relying on its regional advantages, Yinchuan develops the exhibition economy in recent years, hosting the China-Arab States Expo, the International Cashmere Festival and some long-term exhibitions like the Motor Homes Festival, clothing festival. Some Opinions to Push Forward the Convention and Exhibition Industry was issued on September, 2014 to accelerate the marketization process of the exhibition economy in Ningxia. The opinions stress the construction of expo infrastructure, support hosting local exhibitions, call for the establishment of a sound mechanism for brand exhibition, the interaction of exhibition and tourism and etc. Yinchuan is striving to be the center of convention and exhibition industry in surrounding areas by 2020.
