The government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region invested 81.14 billion yuan in improving people’s livelihood in 2015. The investment in poverty alleviation and job creation kept growing continuously.

During the year, some 50,900 people were relocated; 45,700 people were provided with safe drinking water, and some 3.641 billion yuan was invested in 500 poor villages to lift people out of poverty. Some 80,200 shanty houses were renovated and a total of 1.23-billion-yuan small-sum loans were released for entrepreneurship.

In 2016, the government also plans to increase investment in poverty-alleviation, education, affordable housing and food security especially in the southern and middle part of Ningxia to improve people’s wellbeing.
