A total of 430,000 rural people were lifted out of poverty in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from 2011 to 2015, according to its annual Rural Working Conference on January 20.

During the five years, the rural people’s per capita income across the region has reached 9167 yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 12.3 percent. The income gap between urban and rural people in Ningxia has been narrowed from 3.28/1 to 2.74/1.

The meeting pointed out that the output of advantageous farm produce in Ningxia, such as Chinese wolfberry, grape, mutton and beef, accounted for 86.1 percent of its total agricultural output during the same period. The rural income has grown for 10 consecutively years in Ningxia.
