The Tourism Conference of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is held in Yinchuan City on February 3.

The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region received 18.4 million tourists last year, with the tourism revenue totaling 16.1 billion yuan, up by 9.82 and 13.03 percent respectively year on year, according to a themed conference held in Yinchuan on February 3.

The local government invested 1.217 billion yuan in tourism development across Ningxia in 2015, up by 23.29 percent. Rural tourism blossomed and received 3.71 million tourists with the revenue totaling 269 million yuan.

Various tourism activities were held to promote tourism resources in Ningxia and explore cooperation opportunities. Ningxia plans to receive 20 million tourists in 2016, with the expected tourism revenue totaling 18.6 billion yuan, the conference said.
