The big data industry and telecommunication infrastructure construction in Ningxia have made great progress over the past years.

The clustering development of the industry has taken shape in Yinchuan and Zhongwei cities. Being the national pilot city of e-commerce and cross-border e-business, the city of Yinchuan is now developing e-commerce business facing Arab States market, building up governmental administration supervision system, creating e-commerce platforms and China-Arab States Online Silk Road. A large-scale data center has been built up in the city of Zhongwei utilizing energy conservation technologies. Several renowned internet enterprises like Amazon and Qihoo 360 also built data centers there.

Many deputies to National People’s Congress (NPC) from Ningxia expressed that the industry is expected to become a new impetus to advance economic development in Ningxia and foster new growth poles in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, during the ongoing 4th session of the 12th NPC, China’s top legislature.
