The Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone has recently been approved to be the pilot area for standardization of high-end equipment manufacturing by the Standardization Administration and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Established in 2001, the development zone has now formed three industrial clusters, namely, the high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials and modern services. Right now there have been 32 equipment manufacturing enterprises in the zone with advanced technologies in numerically controlled machine tool, intelligent instrument, bearing, hoisting machinery and cast steel production.

In the next three years, according to the approval, the development zone will set up standardization systems for intelligent casting, bearing manufacturing, industrial robots factories and accelerate the actualization of scientific achievements.
