A new Western Xia Museum located to the north of the Western Xia Imperial Mausoleum in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region will complete construction soon, according to a spokesperson for the mausoleum on June 15. Tourists can experience the history and culture of the Western Xia Empire (1038-1227) in the museum through high-tech and new media means after its completion.
With its construction area totaling 9000 square meters, the museum includes a reception area, an exhibition hall and a cultural relic storeroom, said Zhou Wei, director of the planning department of the mausoleum. The exterior appearance of the museum, especially the roof, resembles that of mountain with ups and downs and integrates with the surrounding environment well, Zhou added.
The cinema at the museum will broadcast a 4D film featuring Western Xia culture to enable visitors to experience the empire in a more vivid way, Zhou added.
