The Baijitan International Desert Tourism Festival will kick off at Baijitan Desert Park in Lingwu City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, on August 18, according to a news briefing held on August 16. The event will last for nearly two months.

Various activities including a sand beach football match, a concert, an entrepreneur group visiting tour, a photography competition, a calligraphy and paintings competition and so on will be held during the event.

Occupying a total area of 4400 hectares, the Baijitan Desert Park has been listed as a key area for Lingwu City to accelerate tourism industry development.
