A total of 21.5 million visitors toured Ningxia in 2016, up 17.1 percent compared with the same period of 2015, according to the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region tourism work conference on Jan. 17.

Tourism revenues reached 21 billion yuan, accounting for 6.73 percent of GDP of Ningxia.

It is expected that it will receive 23.8 million visitors in 2017, up 10 percent, and that tourism revenues will reach 24 billion yuan, up 15 percent.
