Horse Shehuo performances are held at the Xinhe Village of Chenjin Town in Longde County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year on January 20. Shehuo performances used to be an act of worshiping the god of the land as well as a celebration of harvest. Gradually, it turned into a pure art and cultural event held during the Chinese New Year.
